Imam who told children martyrdom was 'greater success' than school convicted of supporting Isis

'When you don't fulfil the command of Allah, I'm coming to remove your head,' Kamran Hussain told Stoke-on-Trent mosque

An imam who told children that martyrdom was greater than any other success they could achieve at school has been convicted for supporting Isis.

Kamran Hussains extremist sermons were recorded by an undercover police officer at a charity-funded mosque in Stoke-on-Trent.

Prosecutors said Hussain told children as young as 10 that non-Muslims wanted to kill them and that they must stand up and be ready to sacrifice, be ready to stand in the face of the elements of Shaytan [Satan], be ready to spill blood and have your blood spilt.

The 40-year-old argued that he was exercising freedom of speech, and that the ability to discuss difficult concepts in a challenging world was an essential part of religion.

But a jury at the Old Bailey found him guilty of eight charges including supporting Isis and encouraging terrorism.

Hussains lunchtime speeches to the Ellahi Mosque in Tunstall High Street were recorded for four months from June last year, seeing him address around 40 worshippers including children.

Prosecutors said the 10 out of 17 sermons investigated strayed beyond the mainstream moderate Islamic thought.

The court heard that in June, Hussain referred to Isis as a small fledgling state who is standing in the face of a pompous and arrogant army, while calling on Muslims to pray for the terrorist groups victory and for their oppressors to be annihilated.

Despite an extensive CCTV camera network in place in Islamabad, unidentified men were able to put up an Islamic State (Daesh) flag on a major thoroughfare of the city on Sunday.

The flag, put up on a billboard at a pedestrian bridge on Islamabad Expressway near Iqbal Town, was taken down by police at around 12pm.

A passer-by spotted the flag and informed the Khanna police about it. In his statement, he told the police that he was familiar with the flag as he had seen it on TV.

It was a standard flag of the terrorist organisation, the only addition being that the slogan Khilafat is coming was inscribed on it.

According to the community in Gemnden, the town has a long tradition as a place for refugees and asylum seekers and the first families came from Pakistan more than 30 years ago because they were persecuted in their home country as followers of the Ahmadiyya faith.

The rise of Alternative for Germany, the new far-right political party competing in the upcoming federal election, has unsettled the consensus-driven, moderate politics of postwar Germany with its rabid anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric, unabashed nationalism, and winking gestures embracing the countrys Nazi past.

Election-watchers expected a flood of fake news and inflammatory social media aiding Alternative for Germany, known by its German initials, AfD, to come from Russia. But one of the major publishers of online content friendly to the far-right party is an American website financed in large part and lead by Jewish philanthropist Nina Rosenwald.

The more you contemplate last Sundays Lahore by-election, the more you worry about Pakistans social drift. On the surface, it was all about politics. In fact, the electoral contest was built up as some kind of an existential tussle between the parties of the disqualified ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his abrasive antagonist Imran Khan.

But you could ignore the lead players and look at the sinister plot that the NA-120 by-poll has woven in the roles enacted by the supposedly bit players. In some ways, politics has been defeated by unruly social forces.

Yet, we do not know if alarm bells are ringing in the minds of those who seek to preside over our destiny and define our path to glory as a modern country. But perhaps it is the natural outcome of how our national security objectives have been pursued.

Several dozen tradition-minded Roman Catholic theologians, priests and academics have formally accused Pope Francis of spreading heresy with his 2016 opening to divorced and civilly remarried Catholics.

In a 25-page letter delivered to Francis last month and provided Saturday to The Associated Press, the 62 signatories issued a "filial correction" to the pope a measure they said hadn't been employed since the 14th century.

The letter accused Francis of propagating seven heretical positions concerning marriage, moral life and the sacraments with his 2016 document "The Joy of Love" and subsequent "acts, words and omissions."

Friday Sept. 15th members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community arrived at the Baitul Ehsan Mosque in Monroe, Washington to find that explicit graffiti had been painted on the side our mosque. Part of the graffiti had been painted over by another color of paint along with an expletive.

The original part of the graffiti is no longer legible, but we suspect that it was likely a derogatory term. It is not known whether it was put there with hateful intent or if it was just mischievous teens having fun at someone elses expense.

There has been a dramatic increase in hate crimes of the past few years and many mosques have been vandalized throughout the country, ranging from graffiti to arson. Along with the attacks on mosques have been attacks on people which have also dramatically increased, in some cases innocent people are killed.

Tunisian president Beji Caid Essebsi must be congratulated on lifting a forty-year ban on a basic human right of Tunisian women.

Last week the countrys progressive president finally allowed women to marry non-Muslim men.

It was a brave move, given that most clerics opposed the presidents initiative, stating it was a flagrant violation of Islamic precept. However, that is a puzzling conclusion considering that two of the prophet Mohammads daughters were married to non-Muslim men.

The president supported his decision by stating that the ban violated the new constitution of Tunisia, adopted after the so-called Arab Spring.

The New York Declaration builds on a 2013 UN conference and on the efforts of both the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Migration and the Special Rapporteur of the Human Rights Council on the Human Rights of Migrants.

Just one year later, the world society continues to face the issues of refugees from areas of armed conflict and serious tensions as well as with the ways to deal in an adequate fashion with migration.

These reforms aim for gender equality in Tunisia.

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi marched straight into a battle with Egypts highest Sunni authority, Al-Azhars mosque and university, when he proposed social and religious reforms giving women more freedom in marriage and guaranteeing them equal inheritance rights.

A substantial part of that agenda became law last Thursday when Tunisias parliament ended the ban on Muslim women marrying non-Muslim men. It is a direct result of controversial reforms Essebsi proposed, ending a ban imposed in 1973.This was done while proposing new law to secure gender equality in inheritance rights.

The head of a new Pakistani Islamist party that lionizes the killer of a provincial governor said it would take its rallying cry of death to blasphemers to next years general election, after its surprisingly strong showing in a recent vote.

The Tehrik-e-Labaik Pakistan party, which won more than 7,000 votes at a weekend by-election, was born out of a protest movement supporting Mumtaz Qadri, a bodyguard of the governor of Punjab province who gunned down his boss in 2011 over his call to reform strict blasphemy laws.

Supporters of Tehreek-e-Labaik waved photos of Qadri, who became an icon for Muslim hardliners after his execution last year, at campaign rallies in the eastern city of Lahore, where it won 6 percent of the vote in a contest for the seat vacated by ousted former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

A Lancashire county councillor has been suspended from his party following anti-Islamic comments he is alleged to have made on social media.

Conservative Jim Marsh, who is also a South Ribble Borough councillor, is at the centre of an investigation by party bosses.

The action centres around a Facebook message from two years ago that has just surfaced.

In March, 2015, councillor Marsh signed an online petition in support of Pakistan Christian mother, Asian Bibi, sentenced to death in 2010 for blasphemy.

Along with the petition he signed was a comment allegedly denigrating Islam.

Councillor Marsh lives in Hoghton and represents Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge on the county council and Coupe Green and Gregson Lane on the borough council. He is a former Mayor of South Ribble.

The report highlights cases reported in the last few years in which Americans have had their religious liberty rights infringed or "attacked" in one way or another either in the public arena, in the military, in schools or even within church walls.

Mexico City residents worked through the night into the early hours of the morning Wednesday, digging through immense piles of pancaked rubble that had once been high rise buildings searching for survivors of a devastating earthquake that killed more than 200 people across central Mexico more than half in the capital.

They worked in the dark and often with their bare hands, with power out across 40 percent of this city of 20 million and rescue and medical services stretched to their limit.

Volunteers, medics and Marines worked side by side to clear away the chunks of concrete in the dusty air. Everywhere in the city, they formed lines to pass along containers filled with rubble and dump them into waiting trucks.

Blasphemy: A Life-and-death Issue in Pakistan

In Pakistan, religious might is very influential and that thinking has an impact on police and other departments in such cases.

By Bureau Report | September 18, 2017

Blasphemy is an emotive topic in Pakistan, where strong religious sentiments have led in the past to mob violence and worse.

For those accused of blasphemy which can include anything seen as a deliberate insult to God, Islam or religious leaders such an offense is literally a life-and-death matter. The relevant section of Pakistans penal code recommends either life imprisonment or death for any convicted blasphemer.

The issue has arisen again in Punjab, where a court last week condemned to death a Christian, Nadeem James, based on evidence police gathered from a friend who said James sent him a blasphemous poem via instant-messenger WhatsApp. A prosecutor confirmed the contention by Jamess defense lawyer that he never sent any blasphemous material to anyone.

State lawmakers have asked Harford County to halt development of a townhouse community in Joppatowne that an Ahmadi Muslim group promoted as being built for members of the sect.

In a letter to County Executive Barry Glassman this month, Republican Dels. Rick Impallaria, Kathy Szeliga and Pat McDonough urged the county to stop issuing permits for the homes which are already being built along the Gunpowder River until a full investigation has been completed.

The development, known as both River Run and Old Trails, has sparked concern among some nearby residents as well as numerous questions for state and local officials at community meetings.

Online jihadist propaganda attracts more clicks in Britain than in any other European country and the main internet companies are failing to curb it, a centre-right thinktank has said.

Policy Exchange analysts have said that Islamic State is still producing, at a conservative estimate, about 100 items of new content each week, including execution videos and bomb-making instructions, despite big military defeats in Iraq and Syria.

The report, the NewNetwar, says the jihadist online ecosystem, the core of which is rooted in the Telegram app, has tentacles across hundreds of different domains. It is resilient and reaches an audience of, at minimum, tens of thousands, including large numbers of users in the UK.

Small problem for Pakistan: Washington is not about to blink.

WASHINGTON: Pakistan has indicated it might go for broke against the United States with ties between the two countries reaching a new low.

Enraged at being called out by President Trump for nurturing terrorist groups, Islamabad is said to have devised a ''three-option toughest diplomatic policy,'' including an extreme case scenario where it will block access for US and Nato military supplies to land-locked Afghanistan.

Actions prior to this will include, according to the Pakistani media, limiting diplomatic relations with US and reducing mutual cooperation on terrorism-related issues and non-cooperation in US strategy for Afghanistan.

We cant judge the intent of someone else

The profanity sprayed onto Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Seattles mosque just outside Monroe was painted over early Saturday morning by an anonymous resident. The fresh coat nearly matches the shade of the original gray exterior.

Local chapter president Irfan Chaudhry told attendees of the ad hoc Coffee, Cake and True Islam event held Sunday afternoon it was accomplished by a good Samaritan. He said he doesnt believe the act of vandalism that occurred last week at 23515 Old Owen Road is representative of Monroe or Snohomish County as whole.

Christian 'Researcher' Claims The Rapture Starts On Saturday

Meade believes global catastrophes will be caused by a secret planet called Nibiru passing the Earth on Saturday. The world wont end, but the world as we know it is ending.

Theres yet another doomsday date approaching, with some claiming that the rapture will start on Saturday.

Thats when certain Christians will get sucked up into heaven while the Earth descends into a chaotic tribulation period for those who are left.

Several videos about the supposed coming cataclysm are going viral with similar claims, including the trippy clip above showing some kind of space queen giving birth in front of a seven-headed moon lizard.

But dont stock up on Jim Bakkers doomsday food buckets just yet. The entire basis for the prediction is bunk. The September rapture date came from a Christian researcher named David Meade who calculated it would occur 33 days after last months eclipse, The Washington Post reported.

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma caused massive flooding and left thousands of people displaced from their homes. But as devastating as these hurricanes were, the resilience of Americans is inspiring, as they have rallied to help their fellow citizens.

Among these Americans are youth members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, who, working with the nonprofit organization Humanity First, volunteered to clean 64 homes, perform 30 boat rescues, provide 600 hot meals, and raise $10,000 for those affected in areas near Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

As Florida recovers from Hurricane Irma, Ahmadi Muslim youth drove from Wisconsin and Virginia with several gallons of gasoline to distribute and cleaned streets in Miami, Naples, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville.

Remember when Bill Clinton used this Fleetwood Mac nugget as a theme in his 1992 campaign? Today, as Hillary Clintons campaign memoir goes on sale, the Democratic Party Clinton and his fellow centrists remade in their image seems unable to stop thinking about yesterday.

Can the Democratic Party truly reject its past mistakes and look to the future?

Dont Look Back

The past shouldnt be off limits, of course. Were supposed to learn from our mistakes. Nevertheless, Democratic Party operative Paul Begala tweeted, New rule: Nobody is allowed to comment on Hillarys book until they have read the book.

Perspective: Redressing the grievances of Pakistani minorities | Yasser Latif Hamdani

The only way the state can actually fulfill its constitutional duty to safeguard legitimate rights and interests of minorities is if the state allows them to have effective real representation

Pakistan has barred Non-Muslims from becoming President since 1956 and Prime Minister since 1973

The Constitution of Pakistan 1973 incorporates the Objectives Resolution as Article 2-A. Two clauses of the Objectives Resolution deal with minorities in Pakistan. The first states: Wherein adequate provision shall be made for the minorities freely to profess and practise their religions and develop their cultures. The second states: Wherein adequate provision shall be made to safeguard the legitimate interests of minorities and backward and depressed classes. Then in principles of policy under Article 36, the Constitution states The State shall safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of minorities, including their due representation in the Federal and Provincial services.
