KARACHI: Re-polling at the 43 polling stations in Karachi NA-250 constituency is underway amid tight security.
About 86,000 people would cast their ballots in the re-polling. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), the Pakistan People�s Party (PPP) and the Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen have announced boycott of the re-polling after the ECP rejected their demands to hold re-election in the entire constituency.
Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) spokesman has said that polling was continuing unabated, adding that commission�s officials were supervising the balloting.
The ECP said staff and election material had been sent for the partial re-election while army and the Rangers personnel have been deployed for security.
Polling would continue till 5:00 pm without any break. Re-polling would also be held for PS-112 and 113 constituencies of the Sindh Assembly.
